You're browsing through your site's home page, checking all the elements you've just set up, and suddenly you notice one of them is half empty.
You think, "It's supposed to have six posts there, not three!"
Well fear not, because there's nothing broken or malfunctioning. This is a result of our duplicate filtering system. We have this system in place to avoid repeating the same articles incessantly across your site. Here are some very annoying examples of what we mean:
See how duplicate content keeps overflowing from all of the different post elements? This is the main reason why we choose to enable duplicate filtering by default for our clients.But not to worry. We can still solve the issue of your six-post element missing three whole articles by overriding the setting.
Let's say you want an element in your sidebar to display duplicate posts anyway, because the space looks too empty otherwise. Well, here's how:
1. Go to the Layout & Design tool in the left-hand navigation menu.
2. Go to the Post element you want to allow duplicates for — in our example, it's the Side Bar — and scroll all the way down to the Show Advanced Options section in the Properties card.
3. You'll find a checkbox to Allow Duplicates. Check it and Save.
Now that duplicates are enabled (in that particular element, anyway), your posts will show regardless of whether or not they're repeated in the home page.
This can be done for any particular Post element you want, and you can easily reactivate duplicate filtering by unchecking the Allow Duplicates box in the Properties card.
