We subscribe to the idea that we live in a universe filled with creators. With that said, not all creators are created equal, and sometimes they move on after a while. That's why we want to make sure our site administrators have complete control over who has access to their RebelMouse pages. We've launched a new user interface within our users dashboard that allows you to efficiently remove authors from your site. And during this process, you can also reallocate posts from one user to another in bulk. Here's a look at how it all works.
There are three steps to the user removal process:
1. Select a User for Removal and Configure the Status of Their Posts
To select a user, click the trash can icon to the right of their name in your users dashboard. Then you need to decide on what to do with the user's posts. You can either leave the posts as they are on your site, or bulk update them to a new status. Posts can be set to either draft or published.
2. Select a New Author for Posts
Next you can select which author the posts should be reassigned to.
If you don't choose a new owner for the posts, they will be deleted along with the author as shown below.
3. Confirm User Removal
The final step is confirmation that you want to remove your selected user. This gives you the opportunity to check the settings you chose in the previous steps.
When you're done, click REMOVE. The user will be deleted, and the posts will follow the path you've chosen. In our example, we assigned them to Author Number2:

We hope this process makes it easier to preserve content, and increases the flexibility of your user dashboard.
